Webstream Fonts modifies, manufactures, and distributes open-source fonts based on some of the world’s most known and loved typefaces.
Our fonts are released in TrueType format and are compatible on most modern desktop operating systems such as MacOS, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. On those systems, you should be able to use the fonts with any program you choose, such as Inkscape, Word, Scribus, etc. If you need the fonts in other formats such as OTF, then please use an online file conversion tool like CloudConvert.
Our library of fonts are also compatible on most modern desktop and mobile web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and more! These fonts were originally made for publishing, printing, and filmsetting (film/photo typesetting), but can be used on websites and web apps if needed, especially through our Barclay Fonts service. If you use our fonts for web development (i.e., websites or web applications), then they should work on all or most modern devices.
All of the fonts in our main collection are licensed under the SIL Open Font License, whereas our classic fonts are licensed under other, non-OFL open-source licenses. You can download our main collection here and our classic collection here. All of our fonts are available via our FontCheckout service. For both licenses, you MUST follow all terms if you make any derivative works.
Please note that these fonts DO NOT work on the Google Docs Suite and CANNOT be installed on Chromebooks or mobile/tablet devices (easily, at least). They may be workarounds, but Webstream does not provide those solutions.
